If you're reading this you probably do one or more of the following on a regular basis. Eat, sleep, go to the store, watch TV, drink coffee, make a phone call, drive your car, listen to music, go to church, take a nap (very spiritual BTW), go to the post office, check your e-mail, pray, take care of your pet, walk to the mailbox, walk the town dressed in colonial attire carrying a lantern and declaring the time followed by "all is well" every hour. If you do any of those things, ok maybe not the last one, you're qualified to minister in our "contemporary" culture. Thank me, you can now cancel your reservations to the latest cool church conference you registered for. I also saved you between $79-$239. Your welcome.
Sometimes we make simple things so complicated. Let's not try and reinvent the wheel here people. If your breathing air, haven't secluded yourself in your humble abodes you're just as much a culture expert as the guys speaking at these conferences that never seem to end. I haven't noticed the culture gurus having any greater insight that I can't gain by observing the things I encounter in my daily life. Eyes, ears and nose, I guess, open. They call it living. Oh, and if you want to reach our young people pry them away from Facebook and talk to them. You probably have one in your family somewhere. I know it's scary, God will be with you.
So now that you've accumulated all the culture wisdom necessary to reach it, the easy part is done. Now you need Holy Spirit wisdom. Well you actually needed that all along. That's easy to get too, it's free, just ask for it. But now the hard part. DOING IT.
Matthew 9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
