Where is God when disaster strikes? Haiti
I understand Pat Robertson has weighed in on the current Haiti disaster. His answer was predictable, and yes I did predict it, ask my wife. Anyhow, I am not entirely comfortable with his answer. I'm not Reformed or a Calvinist but I tend to agree with some of their teachings. Here is a sermon by Dr. Michael Horton who is the J. Gresham Machen Professor of Systematic Theology and Apologetics and an ordained minister in the United Reformed Churches of North America. He preached a sermon that gives some biblical answers about what we're seeing on the news. Don't be fooled by the title, he deals with the topic. Let's pray for the people in Haiti. hmm, I am not sure what Robinsons answer was. But I can assure you why things happen are for reason that which none of us will understand. Only God knows what will happen and all the whys.
It is a bad habit we as humans do at questioning the hand of God. WE dont always have the answers nor could we handle the answers which is why some of the whys will never have the answer to comfort us.
The only thing we can be certain of, is that God is fully aware of what happened, he was there when it happened and things will be ok in time. For the most good things and bad things happen all the time and in them there is some lesson to be learned and alittle glory that we should send to the Lord above.
I am saddened by the quake and the ones that were lost and those who were there in the midst of it. I wish I could just scoop them all up and love on them right now. My heart hurts for them.
The truth is, we are only gonna see more and more of this to come only tomorrow may be harder and worse to deal with. The bible says their will be disasters and alot of them will be devistating. It seems that each one over the last few years seems to get worse then the last. But we should look to him in these times and we can find our comfort in him.
I continue to hold all in my prayers. God Bless you friend. I will hop on over and check out this article you have posted. Thanks for sharing!
